Meaning Making is one of the three core elements that comprise the Now What?! gathering, along with Deep Dive conversations and the Gift Economy. Use the Harvest that is emerging from the many small group conversations taking place during Now What?! as inspiration.
Scroll down to see a playful "mini-learning journey" invitation that is one way you can contribute to this collective sense-making process.
Note that you are welcome to join in the meaning-making process regardless of whether or not you participated in any of the conversations that generated the Harvest.
Try going on a mini learning journey!
A simple and playful process that can be completed in as little as thirty minutes
Use the Now What?! Harvest as inspiration for a spoken or written reflection, poem, drawing, music, or other creative expression of meaning. You might think of "meaning" in the sense of something with a personal implication, e.g. around your freedom, choices you could make, etc. You might even treat the journey through these materials as a kind of oracle, similar to the I Ching or Tarot, where you begin by asking a question and then consider the information you receive as guidance. Or you can simply work with the question: "what beauty, insights, wisdom, questions, or challenges did you discover on your Journey?"
Note that this learning journey invitation is open to anyone, regardless of whether or not you participated in the Deep Dive. If you have not yet read the Now What?! Declaration of Possibility, you might consider doing so before you go on your journey as a means of building alignment with the larger field being co-created through this global gathering. The Declaration has been endorsed by all Now What?! Partner organizations, initiatives and Collective members.
Set an intention for your Journey, then invite in synchronicity as your partner and sit in silence with your intention until you feel ready to move forward.
Wander randomly or with loosely held purpose through the Harvest of written reflections ("jewels"), resources, videos, and music that has been compiled thus far by Now What?! participants.
For example, if you are doing a short journey, try listening to a random minute from three videos, reading three "jewels," checking out one resource, and listening to one song (and maybe also looking up the lyrics).
Take note of anything that strikes you, including feelings, insights, themes, patterns, surprises, etc.
Take a moment to sit quietly and allow deeper meaning and/or creative inspiration to emerge, and to decide on the form that you want to use to express yourself. This could be a short video recording, a piece of poetry or prose, artwork, or anything else that calls to you.
Get playful and creative!
